Your body has an innate ability to keep you alive and healthy, and it’s constantly challenged by stressors. When stressors become very severe, this typically adaptive response can become maladaptive. The good news is: your body holds the wisdom and resources to heal from traumatic stress as well. During the first half of this workshop, Dr. Cat will explain what trauma is, what happens to the body during a trauma response, and how we can use dance to help us heal from trauma. In the second half, Dr. Cat will lead dance exercises aimed to reduce symptoms of PTSD and traumatic stress.
THIS CLASS IS FULLY GROUNDED ON THE FLOOR. NO POLE OR PRIOR MOVEMENT EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.
– OPEN LEVEL
– Class run will be 60-75 minutes
– Live attendance is not required
– Late attendees more than 10 minutes will not be admitted into class
– A recording will be sent within 24 hours of class ending
