Welcome to the first ever Basecamp created by Team Basework, hosted by Shine Fitness Studio.

Basecamp is the first Camp of its kind. You will have the chance to take twelve workshops and learn from 7 instructors from around the world over the course of 3 days. Our camp is designed to cater to pole enthusiasts. Join us for an unforgettable experience filled with skill-building, camaraderie, and a celebration of all things Basework. You will be immersed in many movement styles, including Edgework, Hard Style, Stripper Style, Spin & Static Pole, Flow, Floorwork, Choreography, Acro Chair, and more.

General Information

The camp will be held from Friday, August 30, 2024, to Sunday, September 1, 2024. We recommend arriving in Fort Worth on Thursday, August 29, 2024, to join us for the Welcome Party and rest before our first workshop on Friday at 9:00 AM.

We are excited to partner with Shine Fitness Studio to host our first Basecamp.

Shine Fitness Studio is the largest pole and aerial studio in Dallas-Fort Worth with amenities like 12-foot poles, spaced with plenty of room to dance and move, mirrors down to the ground so you can see all your floorwork, and so much more! Check out their studio’s website for more information.

Participants must be at least 18 years old.

The camp runs from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM each day. A schedule with specific class times and activities will be released 90 days before camp.

Daily Camp Schedule

Shine Fitness Studio will be open for camp attendees one hour before camp starts and one hour after camp ends. Camp attendees may use this time to warm up/recover, make plans, and mingle with other campers.

Yes. There will be 30-minute breaks between classes for rest and recharge.

Participants are encouraged to attend the entire camp for the best experience. If space allows, we will open drop-ins for individual workshops at an increased rate one month before camp.

We will have two levels available for camp – Intermediate and Advanced. Please choose the level that best suits your abilities. We will have limited space in each and cannot accommodate level changes during camp.

The prerequisites for each level are: 

Intermediate Level

  • Comfortable in heels
  • Comfortable following choreography
  • Comfortable with pirouettes
  • Comfortable with split, true, bracket, platter and overhead grip
  • Comfortable in pole assisted shoulder stand


Advanced Level

Confident in all intermediate skills plus the following:
  • Confident & controlled twisted grip handstand
  • Confident in straight leg invert
  • Confident in 1-handed spins. Ex: reverse grab
  • Confident in a shoulder stand (without the pole or wall)
  • Can hold a straight arm hang on the pole for 30 seconds (feet off the ground)

For the best camp experience, we recommend at least 1 year of heels pole experience to attend camp.

Our expert instructors will teach you a variety of movement styles and skills, including Edgework, Hard Style, Stripper Style, Spin & Static Pole, Flow, Floorwork, Choreography, Acro Chair, and more.

What is the cost of the camp?

The cost of camp is $1600. We have payment plans available if you register before April 30, 2024.

When you register for camp, you will receive:

  • Three days of movement
  • Variety of classes like Acro Chair, Floor, Static Pole, Spin Pole, Strip Style, and Hard Style

You will be responsible for covering the following items:

  • Travel to Texas
  • Lodging – Check out our hotel discount at Aloft Hotel Downtown Fort Worth
  • Transportation from lodging to studio or camp activities
  • All Meals – except lunches on Movement days
  • Add-on activities like photography/videography packages, group outings, etc.

Yes, payment plans are available! Payment plans allow you to split the camp fee into four payments. You can take advantage of payment plans until April 30, 2024. Camp must be paid in full by August 1, 2024.

No refunds will be issued. Please review the Camp Policies before making your purchase. By completing an online reservation/payment, you accept these Terms and Conditions as a binding contract between Team Basework on behalf of yourself and any other camp attendee of your booking.

Once you register, we will add you to the private group of all camp attendees. We encourage you to use the private group chat to help find a roommate for the weekend.

We recommend flying into and departing from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW). DFW Airport is about 30 minutes from the hotel or 15 minutes from Shine Fitness Studio. To get to the hotel from the airport, you may utilize ride-sharing, rental car, or train from DFW airport to Downtown Fort Worth. You can take the Trinity Metro TEXRail from the DFW airport to the Fort Worth Central Station, about two blocks from the hotel.

You may also travel through Dallas Love Field Airport (DAL). This airport is farther from our activities but is another excellent option for traveling to Texas.

Transportation is not included in camp fees. We recommend using a ride-share service, like Uber or Lyft, or renting a car. Ride shares are around $15-20 per trip (i.e., hotel to studio or studio to hotel). You may choose public transportation; however, we do not have a station near the studio.

There is ample parking available for free at Shine Fitness Studio.

What add-ons are available?

We’re finalizing the add-ons details, but you can look forward to photography and videography packages, an optional group outing, and private lessons.

I have a restricted diet. Will your lunch and snacks accommodate that?

Yes. We will prioritize gluten-free and dairy-free lunches and snacks. Please indicate any dietary restrictions on the registration form. Please let us know in advance if you have a life-threatening food allergy. We will take extra care in separating or eliminating the allergens from our lunches and snacks.

Photography is permitted during classes, but please ask those in the background of your photo before snapping a shot to respect participants’ privacy.

Individual instructors have different policies for recording their instruction or routine(s). Please ask your instructor before recording them.

Base Camp instructors will showcase their talents to camp attendees at the Closing Celebration. You don’t want to miss this one!

Due to limited space, only registered participants are allowed to attend camp activities.

Fort Worth, TX, aka Cowtown, offers a variety of activities! Here are some suggestions for things to do:

  • Fort Worth Stockyards: Immerse yourself in the Western heritage by visiting the Fort Worth Stockyards. Witness the cattle drives, explore western-themed shops, and grab dinner at a Texas-style steakhouse.
  • Sundance Square: Explore Sundance Square, a vibrant entertainment district in downtown Fort Worth. Enjoy shopping, dining, and live music in this pedestrian-friendly area.
  • Cultural District: Visit the Cultural District, home to world-class museums such as the Kimbell Art Museum and the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. Enjoy an evening of art and culture.
  • Dinner at Local Eateries: Fort Worth boasts a diverse culinary scene. Choose from local favorites and try some Texan cuisine at one of the city’s many restaurants or food trucks. Don’t miss out on the Texas BBQ!
  • Fort Worth Ale Trail: Embark on the Fort Worth Ale Trail if you’re a beer enthusiast. Visit local breweries and taprooms to taste the city’s craft beer scene.
  • Dance Halls & Live Music Venues: Fort Worth has some great dance halls. If you’re in the mood for dancing, check out a country dance hall for a two-stepping and live music night. Billy Bob’s Texas is the world’s largest Honky Tonk! Check out live music venues in Fort Worth. The city has a thriving music scene, and you can find a variety of genres at different venues.
  • Fort Worth Water Gardens: Experience the beauty of the Fort Worth Water Gardens, a stunning urban oasis. It’s a peaceful place to take an evening stroll and enjoy the water features.
  • Trinity Trails: If you prefer outdoor activities, consider exploring the Trinity Trails. You can walk, run, or bike along the Trinity River and enjoy the scenic views.
  • Fort Worth Zoo: If you’re a fan of wildlife, check if the Fort Worth Zoo offers evening events or special tours. Some occasions allow you to explore the zoo after regular hours.
  • Bass Performance Hall: Catch a show or performance at the Bass Performance Hall. The venue hosts a variety of productions, from Broadway shows to classical concerts.
  • Fort Worth Botanic Garden: Enjoy a peaceful evening at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. Stroll through the beautifully landscaped gardens and experience the serenity.
  • Texas Ballet Theater: Check the schedule for the Texas Ballet Theater.

By completing an online reservation/payment, you accept these Terms and Conditions as a binding contract between Team Baswork on behalf of yourself and any other camp attendee of your booking. 

Registration

Team Baswork can only accept your booking with a completed online reservation. Your spot at Basecamp is secured and reserved by paying the camp fee in full or making the first payment plan of your payment plan. All camp fees are NON-REFUNDABLE. You may transfer your camp fees to another individual to attend camp. You will receive an emailed confirmation from Team Basework. This confirmation means that we have accepted your registration. Please carefully check all your registration details; we cannot accept responsibility for incorrect information. If you made a mistake, please contact [email protected] so we can correct it.

Contact Information

We must have a valid email address and phone number. We will primarily correspond with you via email and occasionally via phone. If you change your email or phone number, you should inform Team Basework immediately.

Fees & Payment Plans

You are responsible for paying your camp fees on time and correctly without a reminder from Team Basework. If we do not receive your payment by the due date (as noted on your registration email confirmation), Team Basework may send you an overdue email. 

Current Payment Method on File

During this Agreement, you must maintain a credit card or debit card on file with your Team Basework account online. You must maintain a current payment method on file with accurate billing information. Team Basework shall not be held responsible for any errors in processing payments due to expired or inaccurate information. 

Automatic Debit

By entering into a payment plan, you authorize Team Basework to automatically charge the debit or credit card on file on a recurring basis for the full account balance on the Billing Date. Member understands and acknowledges that Team Basework will initiate charges according to this authorization based on the fees in this Agreement, including camp fees and other fees incurred under the past-due policies. Team Basework may discontinue processing of recurring charges if it is unable to secure funds from debit or credit card due to including, without limitation, insufficient or uncollected funds in the account or insufficient or inaccurate information provided.

Declined Payment 

If your payment is declined, you will have 48 hours to remit your payment without penalties. You will incur a late payment fee of $50 if the balance remains unpaid after 48 hours. You will have seven (7) days to pay the balance, plus the late payment fee. If payment is not received, Team Basework reserves the right to cancel your registration. Any payments previously paid will not be refunded or transferred to any other programs. Camp fees and any late payment fees must be paid in full to attend camp. Fees that have not been paid in full by August 1, 2024, will be treated as a cancellation, meaning you forfeit your spot in Basecamp as well as all payments made for it. No refunds, no credits. 

Code of Conduct

Team Basework and Shine Fitness Studio are committed to the health, safety, and welfare of each of its attendees and will not tolerate unreasonable, threatening, obscene, harassing, indecent, or illegal behavior. By registering and attending camp, you agree to abide by these policies and to respect the decisions made at the absolute discretion of the camp organizers regarding any disputes or violations. If a camper does not observe the camp policies, Shine Fitness Studio reserves the right to take disciplinary action, including, without limitation, requiring you to leave the studio premises and immediately terminating camp without refund. Shine Fitness Studio’s policies are available at https://shinefitnessstudio.com/policies and are subject to change at any time, with or without notice. 

Class Attendance & Punctuality

Camp attendees who arrive more than 15 minutes late to any class are welcome to stay and watch but will not be allowed to participate. It is dangerous to engage in any movement-related activities without a proper warm-up.

Alcohol & Drug Policy

Alcohol and Drug consumption is strictly prohibited. Participants must not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol while training or participating in any activities. This includes prescription or over-the-counter medications that might alter the ability to focus or concentrate. No refunds will be issued for participants who are asked not to participate.

Photo & Video Release

Camp attendee hereby grants Team Basework and Shine Fitness Studio, its representatives, employees, and agents the right to take photographs and video footage of attendees and attendees’ property while participating in camp activities and to use or publish these photos and videos in print or electronically. Attendee agrees that Team Basework and Shine Fitness Studio may use photographs and video footage of the attendee without additional compensation, with or without the attendee’s name, for any lawful purpose, including without limitation, publicity, illustration, advertising, and web content.

Damages

Camp attendee shall be liable for any damages to Shine Fitness Studio property that result from the intentional, grossly negligent, or negligent conduct of the attendee, attendees’s guest, or attendee’s child. Not all rules and regulations are listed in this agreement.

Right to Changes & Force Majure

Team Basework and Shine Fitness Studio shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations under this Agreement or for any loss or damage resulting therefrom if such failure or delay is caused by any event or circumstance beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, war, terrorism, civil unrest, fire, flood, earthquake, epidemic, pandemic, power outage, strike, lockout, or governmental action. In the event of any such occurrence, Team Basework and Shine Fitness Studio may, at their sole discretion, suspend, modify, or terminate their services and facilities, or any part thereof, without prior notice or liability to the camp attendee. Camp attendees shall not be entitled to any refund, compensation, or damages for any such suspension, modification, or termination.

Your travel and accommodations may need to be adjusted accordingly in these circumstances. Team Basework and Shine Fitness Studio are not liable for any additional costs or losses that may be incurred by the client due to the change of booking. This includes but is not limited to, any extra hotel reservations or car rentals or the cost of non-refundable airline tickets. 

Where an instructor or facilitator advertised for a camp is not able to teach due to reasons outside our control, Team Basework reserves the right to replace them with another instructor or facilitator.
